Y nuevamente, el llamado Best of by Yes, una de las bandas más grandes que ha producido el rock progresivo. Hay solo diez piezas de ocho de sus álbumes de estudio, incluidas dos canciones muy antiguas, algunos clásicos reales, pero también molestos ("Sound Chaser"), así como un número completamente superfluo de la era de los 80 ("Love Will Find a Way" ").

Es comprensible que ninguno de los cuatro títulos de su obra más popular Tales from Topographic Oceans (1973), cada uno de unos 20 minutos de duración, se haya tenido en cuenta debido a la capacidad limitada de un disco compacto; pero por qué el material consistentemente excelente del exitoso álbum Going for the Onefrom 1977 está más allá de cualquier explicación lógica.

Here is the 2nd Volume of some very unique material that had limited release as promos. These are hard to find items that go for a high price and I have included the info below if anyone might seek the originals.

Tracks 1, 2 and 3 are from a promo CD released in the US in Dec 1996 to promote Keys To Ascension I (CMC DJ 87207-2)

Track 4 is from a promo cassette released in 1994 to promote Talk. It is an interesting mix of 5 edited songs that flow together then climaxing with the final 11 minutes of Endless Dream that is listed as "Silent Spring" (Victory 383 480 033-4A)

Track 5 is from a promo cassette "Yes Boxset Sampler Presentation" released in 1991 to promote YesYears. It has snippets of Yes songs with an announcer talking up the newly released Boxset between the snippets.

Track 6 is from a (2 song) promo CD released in 1987 to promote Big Generator. The other song was the album version (ATCO PR 2088-2)

Tracks 7, 8 and 9 are from a (3 song) promo released in the US in Jan 1988 to promote Big Generator (ATCO PR 2089-2)

Tracks 10, 11 and 12 are from a (4 song) CD released in Sept 1991 for What??? The 4th song was the album version (ATCO UK B8713)

1987 - Big Generator

El embrión de este nuevo Yes lo hallamos en una reunión
entre Squire, White y el guitarrista Trevor Rabin, a la que 
después se añaden el teclista Tony Kaye y el cantante Jon 
Anderson, como muy bien nos ha señalado ronnie70 en su 
reseña del 90125.

Han pasado cuatro años del anterior álbum y se ve que la 
intención es repetir la fórmula de ese anterior trabajo e 
intentar un nuevo éxito comercial (está claro que de crítica 
no lo iban a conseguir). Nuevamente Rabin se pone al 
mando del proyecto, aunque esta vez con más discrepancias creativas con el resto de la banda, sobre todo con Jon Anderson que se siente un tanto al margen del grupo y relegado a la mera tarea de poner la voz a los temas.

Delante de estas perspectivas no es difícil imaginar que el resultado musical del disco sólo tendría de Yes el nombre. 
La música cada vez más en onda pop, comercial y carente de emoción se aleja aun un poco más, si cabe, de las bellas, complejas y emocionantes composiciones de los Yes de los 70.  

A pesar de todo el disco obtuvo un notable éxito comercial, 
y temas como “Rhythm of Love” y “Love Hill Find a Way” alcanzaron lugares importantes en las listas de popularidad y fueron muy “pinchadas” en las emisoras de radio-fórmulas.
La conclusión final de este trabajo la podríamos resumir en 
una sola palabra: PRESCINDIBLE
